Rav N

Mentor

I have ten years of experience working with children in a range of roles, including as an Early Years Teacher, Outreach Teacher with Tavistock & Portman, and currently as a Music Therapy Assistant in Child Development Services. I have supported children with a wide range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, PDA, PTSD, Anxiety, Speech and Language needs, developmental differences, physical disabilities, trauma histories and mental health needs.

In my current work as a Music Therapy Assistant, I support children’s emotional expression and regulation, communication and language, social interactions and physical development through creative, sensory, and child centered approaches.

I am a patient, creative and reflective person who is enthusiastic about using creative, highly individualised and trauma informed approaches to supporting children, adapting flexibly to their interests, needs, communication styles and emotional states, by providing a space where children can feel safe, understood and empowered.

Gaming has always been an important part of my life, offering me connection, creativity, challenge and calm during difficult times. I have experienced first hand how games can provide comfort, escapism and joy, strengthening my belief in gaming as a tool to support anyone who may feel overwhelmed, isolated or misunderstood.

I feel incredibly privileged to be a part of MindJam, a service that offers a unique and needed space, where children can be truly be themselves, connect, feel understood and valued, and build confidence and resilience in a way that feels natural and safe for them.
