Emily Chalder
Counsellor
Hi, my name’s Emily and I’m excited to be starting as a counsellor at MindJam.
I have previously worked as a mentor and counsellor for both adults and children looking at various issues as well as working with neurodiverse kids in a range of settings including CASY and as part of the Home Tuition Team for Lincolnshire County Council.
As a counsellor I mostly work from a person-centred perspective, but also draw on other areas of counselling such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, and Art and Drama therapy. I am always guided by the needs of the people I work with and look to tailor my approach to suit the individual.
People can worry that their concerns aren’t important or big enough to justify counselling, but any concern that troubles you is enough of a reason to reach out for support and begin to feel better in themselves.
I hold a level 5 Advanced Diploma in Counselling and I’m a member of the BACP as well as being DBS checked.
Video Games: Any Final Fantasy type RPGs, Soul Calibur, and my guilty pleasure – Secret Forest Cats!
Other Hobbies: Aerial silks and trapeze, roller skating and poi.
We'd love to hear from you.
