Congratulations to Alex for being the first mentee at MindJam to achieve the Gold Arts Award with Trinity College London!
Alex decided to focus on developing his miniature painting skills as a part of his award. He went into depth testing out different paint ranges, colour schemes and techniques to improve his outcomes over time. As part of his research he went to multiple games and miniatures conventions to meet creators and designers.
As part of developing his leadership skills he organised and delivered a workshop in a primary school focused on miniature making and painting. To do this he made contact with and made use of resources from the Warhammer Schools Alliance who provide model kits for schools.
The children enjoyed the workshop and were able to successfully build and paint their miniatures with Alex’s support and guidance. One pupil particularly enjoyed the activity and plans to look further into the hobby after completing the workshop.
Alex has been volunteering at the primary school that he delivered the workshop to and is completing a Teaching Assistant qualification while volunteering at the school.
