Hi there, I’m Duncan!

Having previously experienced my fair share of struggles with my own mental health over the years, my ultimate goal has always been to help others move into a better place.

I’ve worked with young people across a variety of educational settings, including roles as an English teacher, a teaching assistant, and a listening support volunteer. I’ve supported students of all abilities, including those with SEND, autism, and ADHD, and I’ve learned that the key to helping any individual flourish is a flexible, empathetic approach that centres on their specific needs.

MindJam’s approach resonates with me because it’s exactly how I found my own way as a teen. Having personally come out of my shell via Xbox Live playing games like Minecraft, Halo, and Fifa, I know firsthand just how powerful a gaming environment can be for building confidence and connection. By supporting emotional well-being through activities that young people already find comfortable and engaging, we can create a truly safe space for growth.

I’m genuinely passionate about all things digital – I adore video games, and in my spare time I’ve explored Digital Game Art and even built my own YouTube channel. I’d love the opportunity to combine this enthusiasm with my supportive background to help others build confidence, find their voice, and develop new skills.
