Mentor

Hello there! I’m Lauren and I’m so excited to be a part of the MindJam family.

I have a degree in Radio and Digital Production from The University of Westminster, giving me industry knowledge in journalism as well as content creation. Sound design is another big interest of mine, especially going in depth on horror movies and games even though I find them terrifying!

Over the last six years I have been working in theatre, most recently touring with the musical Hamilton for the last two and a half years as a part of the sound team. I love the performing arts, having worked with children and young people to express their creativity through dance and musical theatre.

Now after my chronic illness diagnosis, I am looking forward to helping children and young people express their creativity in digital formats, whether it be using The Sims 4 to build a house or a Minecraft redstone machine.

Growing up neurodivergent but undiagnosed, I can understand how difficult and frustrating school and even extra curricular activities can be. Now as an alleged grown-up, I can’t wait to help children and young people navigate their way through the world, real life or virtual!

I am fully trained in safeguarding, online safety, data protection, and GDPR, as well as holding a full DBS certificate.

Favourite Games

The Sims 4, Minecraft, Sid Meier’s Civilisation V, R.E.P.O, Cities Skylines, Don’t Starve Together, and Animal Crossing.

Hobbies

I love musical theatre, singing (badly), dancing, video games, reading, crochet, and cross stitch.

We'd love to hear from you.
