Hello, I’m Jenny!

In all aspects of my Hospitality and HR career, supporting people has always been my favourite part. I have always loved supporting my team and take great pride in being approachable and flexible to suit different personalities. I love learning new things and equally love being able to help people achieve their goals.

I have home educated my two children from the beginning (they are now teens) and our ethos has always been child led, following their interests and focussing on creating a safe space with no pressure or expectations. Which is why Mind Jam resonates so deeply with me and I am so excited to be a part of supporting young people’s wellbeing. We have always used gaming (especially board games) in our education journey to help build skills such as sharing, taking turns, problem solving, patience, resilience and Maths and English skills, so I understand the benefits and impact gaming can bring. We still regularly use gaming as a way to connect and build on those skills.

Throughout the last few years, I have gained digital and creative skills through following my interests. I ran a YouTube channel and Instagram account reviewing Lush products, a beauty blog and I managed a website for a business – so I have experience in video editing, social media management, SEO, website building (WordPress, Wix, Weebly), Photoshop, photography and digital marketing.

My first experience of gaming was Echo on the Sega Mega Drive and feeling that lovely connection to it because I adored dolphins! I still have a soft spot for Sega; I had to chase that nostalgia and get the console a few years ago and I now have an ever-growing collection. It’s been nice hunting down games that I had forgotten about, like Cool Spot and Castles of Illusion, and also finding games that I never got to try out.

I have fond memories of growing up playing Rayman on the PS1 with my older sister and getting my own Gameboy Advance SP and falling in love with Spyro. Gaming was such a special way to connect with my 3 siblings and there’s always been at least 1 game that helped me connect with each of them, as our interests changed growing up.

Gaming has been a big part in my relationship too, from going over to play Fifa when we first started dating, to playing Viva Pinata online together, to grinding Gears of War 1-3 together when we had our own place and to then playing Mario Party together with our kids. Gaming has been such a nice way to connect with each other.
