Mentor
Hello, I’m Oliver!
MY Quest
“My mission is to foster a safe and supportive space that empowers young creatives to
discover, embrace, and nurture their creative voice.”
I’m first foremost an artist and creative problem solver, and more recently a
passionate mentor. I love helping others find their creative voice, whether
through teaching visual art or guiding them in game development. With a
background in concept art for video games and animation, and professional
experience within the creative industry since 2018, I’m excited to share my
knowledge. I’m proficient in a wide range of tools from digital art applications,
such as Adobe Creative Suite, to 3D production software, like Zbrush, Blender,
and Unreal Engine, among many more. I am also fully DBS checked and CPD
certified in safeguarding and online safety.
Growing up with mixed heritage, I often faced many social barriers and struggled
with anxiety and low self-confidence during my early school years. Art and
gaming became an opportunity for escapism and a way to build my confidence.
Through immersive game worlds and creative expression, I was able to overcome
many of those challenges. Like many who share similar experiences, I know
firsthand what it feels like to believe you have little to offer or to feel out of place.
I was not particularly gifted or excelled academically or encouraged during
school, and did not enjoy learning until I discovered my love of art and creativity,
which built my curiosity for learning and helped me connect and collaborate with
like-minded peers.
My pursuit of art has allowed me to connect with many in the creative industry
who share similar passions for the craft and expression. At the same time, the
gaming community has given me lifelong friendships. Whether playing FPS titles,
competing in arena games like Smash Bros and Pokémon with friends or
exploring the vast open worlds of the Elder Scrolls universe, gaming has
consistently provided me with a sense of comfort and belonging during my times
of struggle.
When I’m not creating art or building worlds in 3D, I grasp any opportunity to
travel and indulge in other hobbies such as watching anime, movies, or brushing
up on my Japanese. I strive constantly to be open to developing myself and share
what knowledge or expertise I have.
I’m wholeheartedly looking forward to working with this family and excited to
help my future mentees each session at least 1% closer to achieving their dreams
and unleashing their potential, for I believe there is something golden in
everyone. Through empathy and trust, help you or those you care for build
confidence to nurture curiosity and craft something truly amazing.
Hope you can join my quest, together we can discover your true calling.
