Hey there, I’m Nick. I have a Masters in Biology in the field of Animal Behaviour and Welfare, and I volunteer with a mental health charity that offers horticultural and outdoor therapeutic approaches to people of all ages with neuro-divergent and SEN needs. I initially joined as a participant for support with my own mental health, and quickly wanted to join their volunteer staff after experiencing first-hand the benefits of their support.

I’m a big proponent of socializing through games, having spent many years of my life with groups I would consider second families when I played World of Warcraft or more currently over discord, where my friends and I can feel free to talk about whatever is on our minds. I’m particularly fond of role playing games and the choice making opportunities within them, as it gives us the chance to put ourselves in situations we’d otherwise not have the chance to experience, and learn more about our personalities and values in doing so. I also love cooperative games that encourage communication and creative solutions to problems.

I’m an avid table top and live action role player. I currently run a Dungeons and Dragons campaign for neurodivergent young adults, and attend one of the nation’s largest LARPing events where I spend weekends away in forests and fields pretending to be a fantasy blacksmith and supporting my friends and fellow LARPers by facilitating gameplay and supporting them if they become overwhelmed. I began in 2018 and quickly fell in love with the creativity and inclusivity its community offers. I’ve also recently returned to the miniature painting hobby of Warhammer, and now spend a lot of my free time constructing and painting them.
