Hello! I’m Jon! – here’s a little about my journey!

My career path has brought me to MindJam after spending 15 years working in further and higher education. During 12 of those years, I thrived as a lecturer, teaching sport science to students across both college and university settings. Supporting, guiding, and encouraging learners to reach their full potential has always been central to my work, and I find the greatest fulfilment in helping others. Throughout my teaching career, I encountered a wide range of students with diverse learning needs. Living with ADHD myself, I have been able to connect with neurodivergent learners from a place of understanding, empathy, and acceptance.
In addition to teaching, I’ve worked as a freelance sports nutritionist, collaborating on projects led by top sporting organisations such as the Chinese Olympic Committee and Lincoln Football Club.

Gaming has long been an important part of my life, offering opportunities to explore new worlds, unwind, and connect with others. I’ve been captivated by the immersive universes of the Final Fantasy series, amazed by the unpredictability and craziness of Mario Kart, whilst enjoying sharing Fortnite sessions with friends and family to name but a few of my favourites.
As mobile gaming has advanced over the years, this has also become a favourite platform of mine to game —after reaching a top rank in Marvel Strike Force, I am now fascinated by the DC Comics turn-based battle game, Worlds Collide.

My interests extend deeply into the realms of superheroes and science fiction. I am a passionate collector of comics and trading cards, with a focus on Pokémon, sports, and superhero themes. I recently started a TikTok channel focused on pack openings and collecting. I’m also an animal lover and have three awesome (Pawsome!) cats!

Beyond my professional and personal interests, I enjoyed competing in many racing sports such as athletics, swimming and cycling but I have found most of my success as an Inline Speed Skater. After 12 national titles in the youth age groups (1998-2006), I won my first of three national senior titles in 2015, followed by two more titles in 2016 where I also was the first British skater to set an official national record in the 100m road event after it became a World and European championship distance, joining a select group of athletes to break the 11-second barrier. I have also represented Team GB at two European Youth Championships and an Olympic Showcase event in 2005.
