Hi, I’m Sam (they/them, he/him) I’m an avid artist, gamer, and scouter. These 3 core

parts of who I am have been with me for most of my life, from the crayons, game-
boy, and marshmallows of little me, to the… digital crayons, PC, and (more)

marshmallows of adult me, I’ve enjoyed creativity and adventure for many years and
now enjoy sharing that passion with others.

In my cub scout group I am known as Bagheera, who in the jungle book plays the
role of a mentor, protector, and friend to the character Mowgli, this was chosen by
the children and I’ve found I do fit the name well with the role I play. I’m patient,
open minded, innovative, and adaptable, and I know the importance of being able to
work with someone you can trust. I face challenges with confidence and new
situations with curiosity, and encourage those I work with to do the same. Sharing
hobbies and interests has been a great tool for me to connect with young people and
create a space for them to show their passion and express themselves freely.

I also studied game design and art at university where I gained a knowledge of design
workflows and researched some of the more psychological aspects of game design
such as manipulation, reward scheduling, flow state, and emerging interest. This has
allowed me to discuss games in a more technical way and learn what aspects of a
game people are truly enjoying. Personally my favourite games involve a creative
sandbox or RPG mechanics where I can level up my skills and find the strongest
character builds.

Working with MindJam I hope to continue supporting and inspiring young people to
be curious and enjoy the adventure of finding out who they are.

Favourite Games

Baldur’s Gate 3, Satisfactory, 7 days to die, Valheim, Terraria, Minecraft, Borderlands (all of them), Civilisation 5, LOTR battle for middle earth 2, Risk of rain 2.
