Hi! I’m Lynda (she/her), a dyslexic creative, educator, and maritime enthusiast who loves using gaming, storytelling, and technology to help young people thrive.

I hold a PGCE in Secondary English and an MSc in Social & Cultural Anthropology, and I’ve worked across schools, colleges, and alternative provision, supporting learners with SEN, autism, ADHD, dyslexia, PDA, and complex needs. I now also specialise as an Assistive Technology Trainer, helping DSA-funded students use tools like text-to-speech and mind mapping to unlock confidence and independence. At this stage in my career, I’m really enjoying exploring how assistive software is evolving — it amazes me how far these tools have come and how they can transform learning.

As someone with dyslexia, I know the challenges of navigating education when it isn’t designed for you — and the joy of finding tools and people who do understand. That lived experience drives my passion for creating safe, empowering spaces where every learner can thrive.
I first fell in love with gaming when my parents bought me an Atari, and I was instantly hooked by the sense of adventure and possibility. Monkey Island stole my heart with its humour, puzzles, and storytelling — showing me how games can spark imagination and creativity. Today, I still love diving into rich adventures like Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, where I can sail longships as Eivor and explore history through play. Gaming has given me problem-solving skills, resilience, and confidence, and I believe it’s a powerful way for young people to express themselves and connect.

Beyond gaming, I’m never far from the sea. I hold my Powerboat Level 2 (PB2) certificate and volunteer as safety crew for yacht races at my local club. I first trained as a sea cadet, and my love for maritime adventure still shapes who I am today. When I’m not out on the water, you’ll find me singing with the Spring into Soul Gospel Choir, writing, or learning Welsh — all ways I keep exploring creativity and community.

My mentoring style is curiosity-led and learner-centred: we start with what you love, whether that’s gaming, music, or storytelling, and build skills and confidence from there. I’m here to create a safe, inspiring space where you can experiment, grow, and most importantly, have fun.
