What is MindJam Adventure Guild?

MindJam Adventure Guild is a Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) based group session exclusively for young people with MindJam, where young people can experience some of the most interactive, out-of-this-world adventures on offer. All in the comfort of your own home.

D&D allows you to roleplay anyone you can imagine in a potentially infinite breadth of settings. Want to be a Legolas style archer, a rage fueled Hulk, or a wizard casting otherworldly spells? D&D allows you to be whoever you want and makes the world your playgrounds

What Can D&D Support With?

To cater to a wider audience, dedicated online tabletop applications now allow you to play D&D with anyone, anywhere. And this is where MindJam comes in! D&D offers the opportunity to develop:

  • Teamwork
  • Communication skills
  • Conflict resolution
  • Identity exploration
  • Creative problem-solving
  • Positive self-esteem

We believe that D&D can have a positive effect on children’s well being – it has even been used in therapy.

How Does Adventure Guild Work?

Guided by skilled MindJam Dungeon Masters (DMs) with years of experience in both D&D and working with young people with additional needs, we are offering the opportunity to play online as part of a small group of like-minded individuals in a controlled, safe, adult supervised environment. Our DMs will be able to cater for complete beginners or experienced D&D players.

So that your young person can get a taste of what D&D has to offer, we are offering a single initial 90 mins taster session. This allows new players to trial the game to explore how it plays and if it is something they are interested in. Additionally, our trial games also allow seasoned players the opportunity to find out how we run the games at MindJam and if they’d like to join a future campaign.

For those interested in exploring the game further, MindJam will be running extended campaigns broken down into seasons. Here you will have the opportunity to create your own character and play within a customised campaign. More information on campaigns will be available in the near future.

Breakdown of the Cost

Adventures Guild sessions provide your young person the opportunity to take part in a Dungeons and Dragons campaign with a mentor trained in understanding and supporting emotional and additional needs.

Young people are carefully sorted into small groups to ensure your young person is in a group in which they feel comfortable to express themselves, grow in confidence and have fun.

Our mentors plan out bespoke adventures that are unique to that group. With each following session affected by decisions that were made in the previous sessions.

Mentors will also be available to provide support to the young person prior to the sessions and provide updates to parents/carers upon request.

Because of the above reasons, the cost of a full campaign is £360 (including VAT). This ensures that all the costs are covered for planning, sessions, parent and young person support, small group sizes and additional admin costs that allow us to offer Adventure Guild sessions

Pricing

One-Off sessions are charged at £36 (including VAT) for a 90 mins sessions and are paid at the end of the month.

Campaigns consist of 10 weekly 90 mins sessions (pausing for school holidays and cost £360 (including VAT). Payments can be made in full or in 3 monthly installments.

We recommend your young person take part in a trial session before signing up to a campaign. This is to ensure your young person enjoys the session before commiting and allows the mentor to help put together groups should your young person want to do a campaign.
