Senior Management / Lead Mentor USA

As a parent of a neurodivergent person diagnosed with autism, I understand not only the daily, but lifelong challenges that come with loving and caring for a child with SEND. As part of a gaming family, I also have first hand experience of how gaming can build bonds and relationships by working together to problem solve, or just by sharing a funny moment. Gaming also kept me connected to my teenagers when they’d rather be shut away in their rooms!

I have extensive experience in supporting young people with Autism including PDA, having provided 1-2-1 support in school settings. I also have a professional safeguarding background and regularly advocated for vulnerable young people and those whose voices weren’t listened to. As a former Safeguarding Officer, I have experience in advising on mental health issues, creating support plans for youth settings, and strategizing to manage difficult or misunderstood behaviour. I have developed and delivered Safeguarding training to adults volunteering in a Youth setting and hold an Enhanced DBS certificate.

I believe in positive reassurance and building confidence in young people. Nothing fulfils me more than knowing that I have contributed to a young person’s positive thoughts about themselves and them believing they can do anything. I am extremely passionate about fairness and equality and firmly believe that everyone deserves to get whatever support they need to realise their aspirations.

I love watching films, anything from Disney and Marvel to Guy Ritchie or Baz Luhrmann films. I game a lot in my spare time and our family favourites are Borderlands (1, 2 & 3), Skyrim, Horizon Zero Dawn, Assassin’s Creed, and the old faithful: Minecraft! I also really love Music and cats.

We'd love to hear from you.
