Hey! I’m Luke, a Mentor at MindJam with a degree in Neuropsychology. My passion for using video games to help children and young adults with mental health struggles stems from my belief in technology’s power to effect positive change. Through my academic pursuits, I’ve dedicated myself to studying the intricacies of human behaviour and the brain, leading me to discover the potential of gaming as a tool for promoting social interaction and communication skills in individuals with autism and other learning difficulties.

At MindJam, I aim to leverage my experience as a gaming mentor to help children and young adults reach their personal baseline. I firmly believe in gaming’s capacity to foster social connections and enhance communication skills, particularly for individuals who have difficulty expressing themselves through conventional means.

With more than two years of experience as an Arena Specialist at Belong Gaming Arenas and as the Tournament Coordinator for Super Smash Bros. Brawl at Digital Schoolhouse, in collaboration with Nintendo, I’ve gained a broad perspective on the gaming industry. My technical knowledge of hardware and computer maintenance, combined with my social skills in hosting events and connecting with players, has allowed me to host quizzes, seasonal events, and publisher activities while engaging with players of all ages and backgrounds.

In addition to my professional experience, I’m an ardent fan of movie franchises like Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, as well as horror movie franchises, including Resident Evil. I’m also an enthusiast of anime franchises such as Naruto and Dragonball Z. Physical activity, such as climbing and martial arts, is something I enjoy when not working, and I spend my free time playing games like Rainbow Six Siege, Dead by Daylight, and Minecraft JAVA, where I’ve honed my modding skills.

I’m thrilled to join the MindJam team and bring my expertise to help children and young adults achieve their goals, positively impacting their lives as a mentor.
