Hiya, I’m Lara! 

An art-loving, cat-cuddling, Pokemon-catching Mentor who is extremely excited to be working with mindjam. I am passionate about helping kids discover their interests and celebrate their unique talents.

 As someone who is neurodivergent I can personally relate to struggles of not quite fitting into the conventional norms. I spent some time in hospital as a child and fell behind on my education and as a result  developed huge anxiety around going back to school. Because of this I was Homeschooled from the age of 10.  Had Mindjam been around when I was younger it would have been hugely beneficial for me and I am so happy that it exists now and that I get to be a part of it!  In college I trained as a SEN teaching assistant along with Studying Art and design and worked with children with Autism and  ADHD. I then went on to be a ofsted registered Nanny for 7 years and am fully DBS checked. I have completed training in SEN, PDA, safeguarding, looked after children, homelessness and paediatric first aid . 

Gaming has always played a huge part in my life and was a great way for me to connect with people when going outside felt difficult (and even helped me get outside with Pokemon Go!) and has brought so much joy into my life from playing micro machines as a kid with my siblings, to hosting parties with my friends on animal crossing. Outside of gaming I love reading, crafting, collecting toys, exploring the countryside looking for bugs and berries and spending time with my very fluffy and very sweet cat Kiki.
