Jay Rosser

Mentor

Hey! My name is Jordan, although I prefer being called Jay, or whatever you’d like! I am a 3D Artist, who usually uses Blender as the main tool of creation, I studied Game Art, Design & Animation in college passing with flying colours. I have a background in many disciplines, including Music, where I achieved a Level 2 & 3 Music Practitioners Diploma, as well as the most obvious one, gaming!

My journey to becoming a mentor is slightly different than most, whilst I have experience in 3D, Music and Gaming, the thing that gave me the experience to help neurodivergent individuals excel and find themselves in some cases was golf. I was a level 2 Golf Coach where I would run ‘Inclusive Sessions’ for those with conditions such as Autism, Tourettes, ADHD, OCD, Social Anxiety and more.

I have also got Autism, Tourettes, OCD, ADHD, M.E, Fibromyalgia, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, as well as Depression and Anxiety, and I want to be able to give what I didn’t have as a youngster, and that’s a supportive, fun and engaging session to help gain confidence. I can relate and empathise with individuals who may feel secluded and shut off from the world. I struggled badly with being bullied due to this and eventually was home schooled before I went to college. Home schooling was pivotal for me, and needed, however I still felt lost, alone, and excluded from many things in life, but it gave me the advantage of pursuing my then career in golf teaching. Unfortunately illness took over in the form of M.E, and I had to stop and change direction career wise, so I went to college and I have experience in music production, and guitar playing from this, after that the lockdown hit and I turned to game design, the one constant through my whole life… Gaming!

I’ve always had a passion for gaming. I started when I was 2 years old playing a Power Rangers Game on my PS2, which eventually led me to all sorts of games. I struggle to pick one game that is my favourite!

MindJam would have been huge for me when I was younger, and I’m proud to be a Mentor for MindJam, I am Fully DBS Checked and have safeguarding training also, I may not have qualifications in SEN but I live it, I can relate and help those in the same situation.

I Look forward to chatting!
