Hi! I’m Hollie, I have been a Mentor with MindJam since April 2022.

I am originally from Newcastle Upon Tyne, but moved to Aberdeen, Scotland at the age of 7 and I have most recently moved to Paris, France which is where I am currently located with my beautiful little ragfold cat, Felicity.

In my professional life, I have worked in the health and social care sector since I was 16. I have completed various qualifications relating to the field and I also studied Adult Nursing in university. I have worked in nursery settings, care homes, hospitals, GP practices doing review clinics and my favourite role prior to MindJam was working in a specialist residential SEN school for CYP up to the age of 25 support working and providing person centred education and life skills teaching. At MindJam, I have absolutely loved Mentoring and I have also taken on an additional role as an ASDAN Consultant where I work towards finding low demand, child led accredited courses for mentees who feel they want to use some of their session time for learning in a meaningful way to them.

In my personal life and free time, I absolutely adore gaming (of course!), spending time on discord with my friends, watching anime, reading manga, being around animals (especially cats!) and I love going abroad and travelling to experience new cultures, languages and ways of life – that is why moving abroad was a no brainer for me! I have loved exploring Paris so far and I am looking forward to travelling around more of France! So far, I have visited most of Europe, North America and Japan. I speak and read Japanese at a conversational level and I am also currently learning French and getting more fluent every day.

I am fully DBS checked and I have had all relevant safeguarding and SEN training.
