Mentor

Hi! I’m Beth!

I have a background in Psychology with a Master’s degree in Mental Health and Psychological Therapies. I pride myself on my warm and compassionate approach to supporting others, and fostering an environment individuals can feel safe to explore their interests. Throughout studying, I’ve taken on numerous roles across the education and health and social care sectors, including as a teaching assistant in SEN schools and as an assistant psychologist in a unit supporting individuals with mental health issues. I have experience in supporting individuals with various needs such as ASD, ADHD, PDA, substance misuse, physical and learning disabilities, as well as mental health issues and trauma.

As someone who is neurodivergent, I began gaming from a young age as a way to relate to others and cope with my own sensory needs. From 4 years old playing on my Nintendo 64 to the present day, video games have given me the confidence to pursue my interests, explore my creativity, and socialise with others in a safe space. I am keen to learn more about game design and programming, and am pursuing this further in my free time through Unity and Blender. I am thrilled to be working with MindJam, combining my passion for mental health and love of video games, in order to help others work towards their goals.

Outside of mental health and gaming I love exploring the world through travel, language learning, cooking (anyway I can really!) and am passionate about encouraging others to pursue their creativity!
