Sam Brewer
Mentor
My name is Sam, nice to meet you!
I care deeply about creating safe, supportive spaces where young people can feel supported. My
goal as a mentor is to help each child I work with to feel heard, understood, and supported. I am
experienced in working with children with Autism, ADHD and PDA and for the last two years I
have worked with older children and teens to build their confidence, develop life skills, and
encourage their strengths through learner led activities at a local Forest School.
I know the incredible difference it can make to have someone you can trust, who supports you and most importantly listens to you and to not feel judged for simply being yourself. As a mentor, I support children through videogaming as it is a love of my own, and I’m also keen to support with encouraging creativity through digital skills tutoring such as video editing and graphic
design as I worked in filmmaking for over ten years.
I have certificates for safeguarding, online safety, data protection, understanding mental health andnon-suicidal self-Injury,supporting people with Autism and ADHD and Mental Health England First Aid accreditation. I also have an Enhanced DBS and I am currently working through my Forest School Leader qualification.
