Rebecca Price

Mentor

Hi there, I’m Rebecca!

I am a huge nerd, who loves to play all types of games. These can be video games, board games, Dungeons and Dragons and more. I have experience with young people on the spectrums of autism and ADHD from my previous role as a SEN/SEMH teacher and a mentor to young people with trauma and mental health issues. I found it easy to relate to the young people I taught as I have ADHD and childhood trauma, I also have 2 sons who are both on the autism and ADHD spectrum.

As well as being a nerd I am also an artist and a crafter, I have a BA (hons) in fashion and textile design and have been making art since I was a little kid. I currently love to make digital art on my iPad, hand embroider textiles and make jewellery. I’ve found that art, crafting and gaming can be great tools to help young people socialise with others and find a safe space to regulate their emotions.

Gaming has always been a large part of my life outside of work. It is how I regulate myself when I am over stimulated or anxious. I love playing games such as Minecraft where I can build worlds and I also love the Lego games, especially Lego Star Wars where I can bash things apart with a lightsaber!

I am really excited to be able to invest my time and skills back into helping young people again through MindJam.

Favourite Games
