Mentor

Hello there! My name is Rayan.

I am a social media & community manager based in Paris, France. For the past 2 years, my day job has mainly focused on assisting various gaming studios in their communications around publishing their games.

When I found out about MindJam, joining was a no-brainer move for me. From a very young age, I have been exposed to the transformative power of video games and have been fascinated by its potential to teach and influence. For my digital marketing master’s thesis, I organized a study on the effect of video game storytelling on the
perception of real-world locations in young adults.

I have also assisted in creating a study looking into the effects of video games on the cognitive abilities of university students at my alma mater. Recently, I have also begun teaching at various universities around Paris. I enjoy a wide variety of games, and I am always open to discovering new
ones.

Favourite Games

Some of my favorite games include Fortnite, Smite, Deep Rock Galactic, Prince of Persia (any game in the franchise), Amnesia, Little Nightmares, and virtually any roguelike / roguelite game (ie. Hades, Binding of Isaac, Risk of Rain…etc.).

Hobbies

When I am not working or gaming, you will usually find me cooking; I am a former
chef-in-training with a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, and enjoy creating
new recipes constantly – my speciality is baking/desserts. Otherwise, I will likely be at
the gym, watching anime, or hiking somewhere with no cell service.

My Pets

I rescued these 2 floofs when a friend’s cat gave birth and they couldn’t care for the
litter. I don’t know what breed they are, but they are certainly a handful!

They have polar opposite personalities: Timon (orange cat) is rambunctious and wild,
and still behaves as if he were a kitten. Pumbaa on the other hand is very placid and
spends his days doing what he loves most: sleeping and looking majestic
