Mossy Mumford

Mentor

Hi there! I’m Mossy, and I’m thrilled to be part of the MindJam team. My journey with MindJam began when my husband joined a couple of years ago, and I’ve been inspired ever since to join the mission of supporting and empowering children.

Originally from Thailand (English is my second language), I started my career working towards a law degree. But life had other exciting plans! My husband and I traveled the world while working on a cruise ship, where I had the opportunity to work with children from all walks of life. After moving to the UK in 2015, I transitioned into childcare, working in various nurseries and later as a private nanny and babysitter.

I’m deeply passionate about fairness, equality, and ensuring every child gets the support they need to reach their full potential. I’ve had the privilege of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and have even helped a Ukrainian refugee family with an autistic child settle into a new life here in the UK.

I enjoy calmer collaborative games where we can play together to build or create! Although I’m new to console gaming, I’ve always loved mobile and tablet games, and I’m excited about using these platforms to connect with and support children in creative ways.

I believe in the power of positive reassurance and building confidence in young people. Nothing makes me happier than knowing I’ve contributed to a child’s belief in themselves and their ability to achieve anything they set their mind to.

At MindJam, I’m excited to combine my childcare experience, SEND expertise, and love for gaming to help children grow, learn, and have fun!

I am fully DBS checked and have up-to-date safeguarding training. I have received training in online safety, child protection, mental health issues, the autistic spectrum and PDA.

Favourite Games

Minecraft, Roblox, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart.

Hobbies

My main hobby is making candles! It has recently grown from a hobby into a little side-job so it keeps me busy! I also enjoy exploring with our dog and traveling to new places to learn about their food, languages and culture! My husband has a pilot’s license so I also like to join him on little trips to airfields around the UK!

My Pets

Solar, our rescue dog (Lurcher/Alsation Cross)
